About Me
Be the reason they wag their tails.
In my journey, I’ve been fortunate to rescue more than 8,000 birds and animals. I share this fulfilling life with my husband, Damodar Shetty, and together we have two wonderful daughters, Shwetha and Rithika, as well as our son, Prathik. It’s a family effort, and their support has been invaluable in my mission to care for these creatures in need.
My ultimate dream is to establish a 24*7 hospital for stray animals, ensuring emergency care is accessible to every creature in need.
My vision extends beyond my immediate surroundings, fostering a community where compassion for animals becomes a shared responsibility.

Highlight Story 1
In 2006, while I travelling in a bus, I witnessed a heart-wrenching scene that forever altered the course of my life.
A skinny dog desperately eyeing a street vendor for food stirred something profound within myself.
I witnessed a man finishing his meal and callously discard the plate, only for the hungry dog to eagerly lick the remnants, this broke my heart.
I got down from the bus, bought food, and fed the dog, an experience that ignited passion for animal welfare.
Highlight Story 2
Every day, I cook around 60 kg of rice and chicken waste to feed these animals. Accompanied by one of my two daughters, we travel on our scooter to different parts of the city to ensure the strays are fed. My routine starts early in the morning at 5:30 a.m. with the first round of feeding, followed by another round at 9:30 a.m. and a third one at 1 p.m. I’ve been setting aside a portion of my income specifically for the well-being of these stray animals.
Highlight Story 3
I’ve had my fair share of risky moments while rescuing animals. Back in 2020 during the first Covid-induced lockdown, there was a video circulating online of me tying a rope around my waist and descending into a well to save a trapped dog. It caught people’s attention, and it went viral.
More recently, I found myself climbing down another well, this one a daunting 42 feet deep. There was a lactating dog in distress, and I couldn’t just stand by. So, once again, I took the plunge to ensure the safety of the furry friend. It’s all part of the commitment to helping these animals in need, even if it means putting myself at risk.
